The practice reception staff are often seen, sometimes unfairly, to be responsible for the atmosphere in a practice. We at the Old Links Surgery are particularily blessed with four of the most helpful and friendly ladies you could wish to meet especially if you’re not feeling very well.

The practice nurse is my wife Kathy and she is aided by the phelbotomist (lady who takes blood samples) Deborah Holmes.

As a single handed male GP I appreciate that the service I offer will not suit everybody, however there is a lot to be said for knowing exactly who your doctor is. That might sound strange and old fashioned these days. However, it makes a great deal of sense when you read about medical disasters where the poor patient has passed by numerous medical practitioners none of whom managed to see the full picture or communicate their thoughts adequately to the next “duty” doctor the patient was forced to see rather than the one they requested. At the Old Links Surgery we provide complete continuity of care and this on its own can quite literally be a life saver.
